So apparently Ron Artest never even wanted to be a professional basketball player at all. Boxing and football were both higher on his list growing up, and he hasn't forgotten. Artest recently stated on ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" that ideally, he'll play Tight End for the New York Jets.
As a Jets fan, I would welcome giving Artest a try out. I can see him getting along with Rex Ryan (and maybe Michelle Ryan). But back to football, he's 6'7", 260 lbs so the size is certainly there and clearly has the mentality to make it in the NFL. Would he be good? Most people will say no way, but I wouldn't be shocked.
